Take a Stroll Through the Shaklee Home Office!

Take a Stroll Through the Shaklee Home Office! Open Spaces An open environment supports our belief in the healthy flow of ideas and information. Three floors of open workstations are connected by atriums with large, expansive stairways. At the center of each floor is a family-style hearth and kitchen area, with casual furniture and a fireplace for gathering, relaxing, or reading. The furniture in our workstations was chosen for its comfort and looks, as well as for the fact that Herman Miller lnc is also committed to environmental awareness. Even the black mesh task chairs are made from recycled material. lmages of nature by lmogen Cunningham, Winslow Homer, Ansel Adams, Andrew Wyeth and many other 20th century artists lend visual accents of color throughout the work and meeting spaces. Natural Light As each new day begins and ends with the passage of the sun, the East/West orientation of the main building allows the maximum use of natural light. Light shades draw natural light into the space and also provide shade from the southern sun. High-performance, custom-tinted windows admit plenty of mood-enhancing daylight while electronic shades control light and heat with automatic sensors. lnterior lighting is indirect for ease of computer use; motion sensors turn equipment and lighting on and off to conserve energy. No matter where you are in the building, you can see sky, hills, fields, and trees. Innovation with A Conscience Workspaces are built on raised floors, leaving room below for heating, air conditioning, electrical and technology distribution. Ventilation is delivered through the floor, giving maximum comfort to the user, lowering energy costs and improving air quality. Even the stairwells have attracted national attention for their fire-safety system. Large fans at the top of the stairwell can push hot air downward into the exhaust system to halt a fire. Recycle and Conserve AII wood in the Campus building is harvested from certified sustainable forests. Some of the wood in the Hearth and Kitchen areas is actually pressed fiberboard, or re-used scraps of wood from the shop floor mixed with glue and then finished. Carpet throughout the building is constructed of recycled squares and can be replaced as needed The distinctive leaf-themed fabric was designed especially for Shaklee of recycled material dyed with recycled printer's ink for maximum fade-resistance and durability. Learning to Lead A 250-person meeting room and conference center are part of a dramatic two-level lobby that greets visitors and boldly states our appreciation for the grandeur of nature. The gracefully curved hand-dyed plaster walls are silkscreened with images of the herbs and plants in Shaklee products. Natural slate flooring contributes a durable yet elegant sense of style. Named after trees, lakes, and mountains, the smaller meeting rooms can host 2 to 20 people. Flanked by large silk banners, a "place of spirit" is enhanced by a specially commissioned fountain set upon sandstone and engraved with the Shaklee Mission. The main lobby also features a museum quality tour area that showcases our heritage, future plans, products, and philosophy. A very special interactive display features the actual desk, office chair and working journals of Dr. Shaklee. The Sales Field Leadership Awards, Masters Portrait Gallery, and actual artifacts from convention travel destinations highlight the lifestyle opportunities of a Shaklee career. Wired for the latest technology, yet grounded in beautifully hewn natural light woods and serene color schemes, the Forrest C. Shaklee Leadership Center is dedicated to the inspiration and science that fueled Dr. Shaklee's discoveries. Bringing the Outdoors Inside From every vantage point, views of the sky, rolling hiils, and lush gardens soothe and rejuvenate.
